Care
Take it off for the gym, the pool and heavy lotion; clean it with warm water, a drop of dish soap and a soft brush every few weeks. Emerald gets the gentle version. Silver gets a polishing cloth.

Cleaning by stone
- Moissanite and lab-grown diamond: warm water, a drop of dish soap, a soft toothbrush under the stone where lotion collects, rinse, dry with a lint-free cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is fine.
- Sapphire and ruby: same as above. Ultrasonic is fine.
- Emerald: warm water and a soft brush only. No ultrasonic, no steam, no hot water, no bleach. Pat dry.
Cleaning by metal
- 925 silver: a silver polishing cloth when it dulls. For heavy tarnish, the soap bath above, then the cloth. Do not use toothpaste or baking soda; they scratch.
- 14K yellow and rose gold: the soap bath. That is all.
- 14K white gold: the soap bath. When the underside looks warm or yellowish after a year or two, any jeweler re-plates it in a day.
Storage
Each piece in its own box or pouch, so stones do not scratch softer metals. Silver in a closed box tarnishes slower. Chains hang or lie clasped so they do not knot.
When to send it in
- A stone that rattles, moves or feels loose to a fingernail. Stop wearing it and send us a note; a loose stone reset is free in the first year.
- A prong that catches on fabric: it has bent or worn thin.
- A clasp that does not click shut.
- Once a year for a check on any ring worn daily, whether or not anything feels wrong.
Questions
Can I shower with it?
Yes, for every stone and metal we sell. Rinse it after so soap does not build up under the stone.
Can I sleep in it?
Smooth bands and studs, yes. High prong settings and chains are better off on the nightstand.
How often should I clean it?
Every two to four weeks for a ring worn daily. It takes two minutes.
What damages emerald?
A hard knock on the corner, ultrasonic and steam cleaners, hot water, and bleach. Everything else is fine.
